Media statement in response to Scottish Government announcement of Children and Young People Bill

In response to the announcement, Children in Scotland Chief Executive, Bronwen Cohen said: “While we welcome this rethink on the Children's Rights Bill as originally conceived and the support within this new legislation for a rights-based approach to services, we believe the greatest urgency attached to taking forward the Government’s manifesto pledges on early years provision must be around providing a framework that supports and develops a single integrated early years system for Scotland.”
